Solpadeine Plus Soluble Tablets

Description

Each tablet contains:

• Paracetamol 500mg: An analgesic (painkiller) and antipyretic (reduces fever).
• Codeine Phosphate Hemihydrate 8mg: An opioid analgesic that helps alleviate moderate pain.
• Caffeine 30mg: Enhances the pain-relieving effects of paracetamol and helps to increase alertness.

Other ingredients include sorbitol (E420), saccharin sodium, sodium bicarbonate, citric acid, sodium laurilsulfate, and sodium carbonate anhydrous.

Dosage and Administration

Adults (including the elderly) and children over 12 years:

• Dissolve 2 tablets in a tumbler of water every 4 to 6 hours as needed.
• Do not exceed 8 tablets in 24 hours.
• Do not take more frequently than every 4 hours.

Children under 12 years:

• Not recommended.

Warnings and Precautions

• Addiction: This medicine contains codeine, which can cause addiction if used continuously for more than 3 days. If you need to take this medicine for more than 3 days, you should see your doctor.
• Liver Damage: Do not take with any other paracetamol-containing products. Overuse of paracetamol can cause severe liver damage.
• Do Not Use: If you are allergic to paracetamol, codeine, caffeine, or any of the other ingredients.
• Pregnancy and Breastfeeding: Seek medical advice before use if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding.
• Driving and Machinery: Codeine can cause drowsiness. Do not drive or operate machinery if affected.

Side Effects

Common side effects include:

• Nausea and vomiting
• Drowsiness
• Dizziness
• Constipation

Serious side effects (seek medical attention if you experience):

• Signs of an allergic reaction, such as difficulty breathing, swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat.
• Skin rash or peeling, or mouth ulcers.

Interactions

• Other Medications: Do not take with other paracetamol-containing products, other opioid painkillers, or other medications that cause drowsiness, including sedatives and certain antihistamines.
• Alcohol: Avoid alcohol as it can increase the risk of liver damage and enhance the sedative effects of codeine.
• Certain Medical Conditions: Inform your doctor if you have a history of liver or kidney disease, respiratory problems, or if you are taking any other medications, including herbal supplements.

Storage

• Store below 25°C in a dry place.
• Keep out of the sight and reach of children.
