Ferrograd-Folic Prolonged Released Tablets

This is a restricted product so you will be asked questions at checkout before being able to purchase.

Ferrograd-Folic Prolonged Release Tablets are specially formulated to treat and prevent iron deficiency anaemia and folic acid deficiency. These conditions are particularly common during pregnancy, periods of rapid growth, and in those with inadequate dietary intake. Each tablet combines iron in the form of dried ferrous sulphate, equivalent to 105 mg of elemental iron, and folic acid, which is essential for the production of healthy red blood cells. The prolonged-release formulation ensures a steady absorption of iron over time, minimising gastrointestinal discomfort.

Ferrograd-Folic Prolonged Release Tablets is designed to be gentle on the stomach while effectively replenishing iron and folic acid levels. However, it’s important to follow the recommended dosage and not to self-diagnose or self-treat with iron supplements without professional advice.

Side Effects: Like all medications, Ferrograd-Folic can cause side effects, although not everyone will experience them. Common side effects may include:

  • Constipation or diarrhoea
  • Nausea or stomach discomfort
  • Dark stools (a harmless side effect due to iron content)

Rare side effects may include:

  • Skin rash or itching
  • Dizziness or faintness
  • Unusual tiredness or weakness

If you experience any severe side effects, such as difficulty breathing, swelling of the face, lips, or throat, seek immediate medical attention.

Warnings:

  • Do not exceed the recommended dose.
  • Keep out of sight and reach of children, as iron-containing products can be fatal in case of an overdose.
  • Consult your doctor before taking Ferrograd-Folic Prolonged Release Tablets if you have any pre-existing conditions, such as peptic ulcers, intestinal diseases, or a history of blood disorders.
  • If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember, unless it’s almost time for your next dose. Do not take a double dose to make up for a forgotten tablet.
  • This product is not suitable for those who have had an allergic reaction to any of its ingredients.

Interactions:

  • Medications: Ferrograd-Folic Prolonged Release Tablets may interact with certain medications, such as antacids, antibiotics (like tetracycline and ciprofloxacin), and medicines used to treat thyroid disorders. Always inform your doctor or pharmacist about all the medications you are taking.
  • Food and Drinks: Avoid taking Ferrograd-Folic Prolonged Release Tablets with tea, coffee, or milk, as these can reduce iron absorption. It is best taken on an empty stomach for optimal absorption, but if it causes stomach upset, it can be taken with or after meals.

Storage:

  • Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
  • Do not use after the expiry date shown on the packaging.
