Ferrograd-C Prolonged Released 30 Tablets

Ingredients:

• Active Ingredients: Ferrous Sulphate (equivalent to 105 mg of elemental iron) and Vitamin C (Ascorbic Acid) 500 mg.
• Other Ingredients: Hydrogenated vegetable oil, maize starch, and hypromellose (E464).

Dosage and Administration:

• Adults and Elderly: Take one tablet daily, preferably with a meal. Swallow the tablet whole with water. Do not chew or crush the tablet.
• Children and Adolescents: Not recommended for children under 12 years of age.

Warnings and Precautions:

• Allergies: Do not use if you are allergic to ferrous sulphate, ascorbic acid, or any other ingredients in this product.
• Medical Conditions: Consult your doctor before using this product if you have any medical conditions, particularly if you suffer from iron overload disorders such as haemochromatosis, or if you have a history of peptic ulcers or inflammatory bowel disease.
• Pregnancy and Breastfeeding: Safe to use during pregnancy and breastfeeding, but always consult your healthcare provider before starting any new medication or supplement.
• Alcohol: Avoid excessive alcohol consumption as it can increase the risk of gastrointestinal side effects.

Possible Side Effects:

While Ferrograd-C is generally well-tolerated, some individuals may experience side effects, including:

• Gastrointestinal Issues: Nausea, constipation, diarrhoea, or stomach discomfort. These side effects are usually mild and can often be managed by taking the tablet with food.
• Black Stools: Iron supplements may cause a harmless darkening of stools.
• Allergic Reactions: Rarely, some people may experience an allergic reaction, including rash, itching, or swelling. Seek immediate medical attention if you notice any severe allergic symptoms.

Drug Interactions:

• Antacids and Calcium Supplements: These can reduce the absorption of iron. Take Ferrograd-C at least 2 hours apart from these products.
• Antibiotics: Certain antibiotics (like tetracyclines and quinolones) may have reduced effectiveness when taken with iron supplements. Ensure a gap of at least 2 hours between taking these medications and Ferrograd-C.
• Other Iron Supplements: Do not take other iron-containing supplements while using Ferrograd-C unless advised by a healthcare professional.

Storage Instructions:

• Store in a cool, dry place below 25°C.
• Keep out of the sight and reach of children.
• Do not use after the expiry date printed on the packaging.

Additional Information:

If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it’s close to the time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue as usual. Do not double up on doses.
