Description
Active Ingredients:
- Pessary: Contains 500mg of Clotrimazole.
- External Cream: Contains 2% Clotrimazole.
Indications:
- For the treatment of vaginal thrush (candidiasis) and associated external symptoms in adult women aged 16 to 60 years.
Dosage and Administration:
- Pessary: Insert the 500mg pessary deeply into the vagina at bedtime, using the provided applicator, for a single treatment.
- External Cream: Apply a thin layer of the 2% cream to the affected external area 2 to 3 times a day until symptoms improve. Continue using the cream for a few days after symptoms have cleared to prevent recurrence.
Side Effects:
- Common side effects include mild burning, irritation, or itching at the site of application.
- Rarely, allergic reactions such as rash, swelling, or difficulty breathing may occur. Discontinue use and seek medical attention if any severe reactions develop.
Warnings:
- For vaginal use only. Do not swallow.
- Do not use this product if you are allergic to Clotrimazole or any of the other ingredients.
- If this is your first time experiencing vaginal thrush, consult your GP before using this product.
- If symptoms persist for more than 7 days, or recur within two months, seek medical advice.
- Avoid using tampons, spermicides, or other vaginal products during treatment.
- Sexual intercourse should be avoided during treatment as the infection could be passed on to your partner.
Interactions:
- Clotrimazole may reduce the effectiveness of latex contraceptives (e.g., condoms, diaphragms). Use alternative contraception methods for at least five days after treatment.
- Consult your doctor or pharmacist if you are using other medications, particularly other antifungal treatments or any vaginal products.
