Avomine Travel Sickness Promethazine 25mg Tablets

Avomine Travel Sickness 25mg tablets are an effective remedy for preventing and treating nausea and vomiting associated with motion sickness. Suitable for adults and children aged 5 years and older, these tablets provide up to 24 hours of relief in a single dose.

The active ingredient in Avomine is Promethazine Theoclate, an antihistamine that works by blocking histamine from binding to receptors in the body. This action prevents the activation of the ‘vomiting centre’ in the brain, which is triggered by nerve messages from the ear during travel. This is particularly useful when travelling by boat or car, where the constant motion can lead to symptoms of motion sickness such as nausea, vomiting, dizziness, and vertigo.

Avomine tablets are white to pale cream, plain, circular biconvex tablets marked AVOMINE on one side with a score line on the reverse.

Please note, this medicine contains lactose. If you have been previously told by your doctor that you are intolerant to some sugars, seek medical advice prior to taking this medicine. Do not drink alcohol whilst taking this medication as it may make you sleepy. If this happens, do not drive or use tools or machines.

For travel sickness, the tablets should be taken one to two hours before travelling. For longer journeys, take the tablet at bedtime on the night before you travel.

Remember, this product should not be used in children under 5 years of age and should not be used for a duration of longer than 7 days.
