This is a restricted product so you will be asked questions at checkout before being able to purchase.

Adcal-D3 Caplets are a convenient daily supplement designed to help maintain healthy levels of calcium and vitamin D3, essential nutrients for strong bones and teeth. Each caplet contains 750 mg of calcium carbonate (equivalent to 300 mg of elemental calcium) and 200 IU (5 micrograms) of vitamin D3 (colecalciferol). These caplets are particularly beneficial for individuals at risk of calcium and vitamin D deficiency, such as the elderly, pregnant women, or those with limited sun exposure.

Side Effects:

Most people tolerate Adcal-D3 well. However, some may experience mild side effects, including:

  • Gastrointestinal issues such as constipation, bloating, or nausea.
  • Hypercalcaemia (excess calcium in the blood), particularly with prolonged use or if taken in higher than recommended doses.
  • Skin rash or itching (very rare).

Warnings:

  • Kidney Issues: Individuals with kidney disease, hypercalcaemia, or those prone to kidney stones should use Adcal-D3 with caution. Consult a doctor before use.
  • High Calcium Levels: Avoid taking Adcal-D3 if you have high calcium levels in your blood or urine.
  • Allergies: If you are allergic to any of the ingredients, do not take Adcal-D3.
  • Pregnancy and Breastfeeding: Consult your doctor or pharmacist before taking Adcal-D3 during pregnancy or breastfeeding, although it is generally considered safe.

Interactions:

  • Other Medications: Adcal-D3 may interact with certain medications, including bisphosphonates (used for osteoporosis), thyroid hormones, antibiotics (like tetracyclines and quinolones), and other calcium or vitamin D supplements. Space out the administration of these medications by at least 2 hours.
  • Foods: Avoid taking Adcal-D3 with large amounts of spinach, rhubarb, or whole cereals, as these foods can reduce calcium absorption.
