Acnecide 5% w/w Gel
Acnecide 5% w/w Gel is a topical treatment specifically designed to combat acne and reduce the presence of bacteria on the skin. Containing the active ingredient Benzoyl Peroxide, Acnecide is effective in managing mild to moderate acne by killing bacteria, reducing inflammation, and promoting skin peeling to help clear blocked pores.
Acnecide 5% w/w Gel is indicated for the treatment of mild to moderate acne vulgaris, particularly where comedones (blackheads and whiteheads) and inflammatory lesions (pustules and papules) are present.
Ingredients:
- Active Ingredient: Benzoyl Peroxide 5% w/w

Description
Warnings:
- For external use only.
- Avoid contact with eyes, mouth, and other mucous membranes. In case of accidental contact, rinse thoroughly with water.
- Do not apply to damaged or broken skin.
- Avoid unnecessary exposure to sunlight and sunbeds. Use sunscreen and wear protective clothing when outdoors.
- Use with caution if you have sensitive skin.
- May bleach hair and coloured fabrics including clothing, towels, and bed linen.
Side Effects:
- Common: Dry skin, peeling, redness, and a burning or stinging sensation at the site of application.
- Rare: Allergic reactions such as itching, swelling, severe redness, and blistering. If these occur, discontinue use and seek medical advice.
Interactions:
- Avoid using other topical acne treatments containing peeling agents (such as salicylic acid or tretinoin) while using Acnecide, as this may increase irritation.
- Consult your doctor before combining with other medications, especially if you are using other acne treatments or skin products.
Usage Instructions:
- Wash your hands before and after applying the gel.
- Clean and pat dry the affected area before application.
- Apply a thin layer of Acnecide 5% w/w Gel to the entire affected area once or twice daily as directed by your healthcare provider.
- If excessive dryness or peeling occurs, reduce application frequency or use a suitable moisturiser.
Storage:
- Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place.
- Keep out of reach of children.
- Do not use after the expiry date shown on the packaging.
