Description

Ingredients:

• Active Ingredients: Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide 7.5mg/5ml, Menthol 2.5mg/5ml
• Other Ingredients: Ethanol, Glycerol (E422), Sucrose

Dosage:

• Adults, the elderly, and children over 12 years: Take two 5ml spoonfuls. The dose can be repeated every 4 hours if required.
• Not suitable for children under 12 years.

Side Effects:

• Drowsiness or sleepiness
• Dizziness
• Nausea
• Allergic reactions (such as rash, itching, or swelling)

Warnings:

• Covonia Original Bronchial Balsam can cause drowsiness. If affected, do not drive or operate machinery.
• Do not take Covonia Original Bronchial Balsam with other cold and flu products, including decongestants.
• Consult your doctor or pharmacist before use if you are pregnant, likely to get pregnant, or breastfeeding.
• Keep Covonia Original Bronchial Balsam out of the sight and reach of children.
• Store Covonia Original Bronchial Balsam below 25°C and do not use after the expiry date shown on the bottle.

• Avoid using with other medications containing dextromethorphan or menthol.

OUR HISTORY

With over 50 years of experience, we know a thing or two about coughs and colds. We came from humble beginnings and grew to become one of the nation’s favourite cough brands. Here’s how it all started:

Pre-1960s

Covonia Bronchial Balsam was initially formulated and produced by Huddersfield chemist, S.T. Shaw. As sales increased, Mr Shaw contracted Thornton & Ross to produce Covonia

1968

Covonia, now owned by Thornton & Ross, is first licensed under the Medicines Act to start selling cough and cold remedies. The nation starts to Feel the Power of Covonia

1970s – 1990s

Covonia’s popularity rises, particularly among consumers looking for a no-nonsense remedy for coughs and colds

1997

Covonia launches its first new product for almost 50 years, Covonia Expectorant. In 1998, it launches its Night-Time Formula too

1999

The iconic Covonia bull, ‘Stan’, is introduced and makes his debut on UK TV screens

2001 - 2010

Covonia continues to go from strength to strength, with new launches to build an extensive portfolio of 9 specially-formulated products including Covonia Dry & Tickly Cough

2012 – 2015

The Covonia range expands with sugar free products welcomed into the Covonia family providing relief from coughs but with no sugar
